Technical knowledge to identify and rectify defects is a crucial knowledge for both built personnel and property owners. Inherent defects present in the building inherited from the construction stage need to be identified and rectified in the early stages to minimise damage and deterioration of the building.
In this course, learners will understand examine the legal definition of building defects and the considerations and rights within the Defect Liability Period. Learners will study the legal positions and rights of all parties when disputes arise due to building defects using precedent cases of defects disputes. Lastly learners will learn to identify common defects and the appropriate method of rectification.
At the end of this course, learners will be well-versed in the legal definition with regards to building defects and gain technical knowledge in identifying and rectifying defects found commonly in buildings.
